Origin: Orig. in 1972 from the hybridization of (L. indica PINK LACE x L. fauriei) X (L. indicaFIREBIRD x L. indica x L. fauriei seedling). Selected in 1975. Intro. in 1987 by U.S. National Arboretum. Name registered May 1, 1992.

Growth habit: decidious, upright, multi-stemmed
Flower color: light magenta to lavender
Foliage: glossy, dark green
Bark: exfoliating branches and trunk, dark russet brown to dark mahogany
Autumn foliage color: grayish-red to mahogany
Blooming period: summer, autumn
Preferences: full sun, well-drained soils, good air circulation, soil pH: 5.0-6.5
Excellent choice for: specimen, Flowering accent tree, avenue plantings, groves
