Origin: Orig. from the hybridization of (L. indica PINK LACE x L. fauriei) X (L. indica RED x L. indica CAROLINA BEAUTY) x L. (indica x fauriei) BASHAM’S PARTY PINK; selected in 1975. Intro. in 1987 by U.S. National Arboretum. Name registered May 1, 1992.
Mildew resistance: high
Growth habit: deciduous, upright, multi-stemmed
Flower color: medium lavender
Foliage: light-bronze when young then maturing to dark green
Bark: gray fading to grayish-white and beige when older, mottled
Autumn foliage color: light orange to dull red
Blooming period: summer, autumn
Preferences: full sun, well-drained soils, good air circulation, soil pH: 5.0-6.5
Excellent choice for: specimen, flowering accent tree, screening, groves
