Origin: Orig. in 1972 from the hybridization of (L. indica DWARF RED x L. fauriei) X (L. indica PINK LACE x L. fauriei). Selected in 1976. Intro. in 1987 by U.S. National Arboretum. Name registered May 1, 1992.

Growth habit: Deciduous, semi-pendulous, multiple-stemmed, large shrub or small tree
Flower color: pink
Foliage: dark green
Bark: old branches and trunk chestnut brown to grayed-orange, mottled
Autumn foliage color: red to dark red
Blooming period: summer, autumn (June - Sept)
Preferences: full sun, well-drained soils, good air circulation, soil pH: 5.0-6.5
Excellent choice for: specimen, flowering accent tree, screening, groves
