Origin: United States National Arboretum Introduction. A cross originating in 1960 of L. indica HARDY PINK X L. indica LOW FLAME. Introduced in 1970.

Growth habit: deciduous, upright, multi-stemmed, considered a large shrub or small tree, blooms on new growth
Flower color: clear medium pink, light and dark
Foliage: glossy, green, bronzy cast with spring foliage
Bark: gray, exfoliating
