Best known for its: pink crepe-like summer flowers, exceptional cold hardiness, high mildew resistance, prolonged flowering
Plant family + type: Lythraceae - small dwarf deciduous summer flowering shrub/tree
Origin: United States National Arboretum Introduction. Originated in 1975 from a cross of (L. indica Pink Lace x L. fauriei) x L. indica Alba Nana. Introduced in 1986.
Mildew resistance: high
Growth habit: deciduous, semi-dwarf, spreading, shrubby, multi-stemmed
Flower color: medium pink with recurrent blooms
Foliage: dark green with a pinkish hue on new growth
Bark: grayish and attractive
Autumn foliage color: bright orange red to dark red
Blooming period: summer, autumn for approximately 100 days
Preferences: full sun, well-drained soils, good air circulation, soil pH: 5.0-6.5
Excellent choice for: specimen, flowering accent shrub or small tree
