Origin: Orig. in 1972 from the cross of (L. indica DWARF RED x L. fauriei) X (L. indica DARK RED x L. fauriei). Selected in 1975 and intro. in 1986 by U.S. National Arboretum. Name registered May 1, 1992.
Mildew resistance: high
Growth habit: Multiple-stemmed, semi-dwarf, globose shrub
Flower color: medium pink/lavender
Foliage: dark green
Bark: brown and gray, mottled, exfoliating
Autumn foliage color: maroon to dark purple-red
Blooming period: summer, autumn (July-Sept)
Preferences: full sun, well-drained soils, good air circulation, soil pH: 5.0-6.5
Excellent choice for: specimen, flowering accent shrub/tree, groves, screens, gardens
