Origin: Orig. in 1978 from a population derived from about 4000 seeds collected from 16 seedling parents of L. indica and treated with a 4% solution of ethylmethane sulfonate (EMS) for one hour. Selected in 1980. Intro. 1983 by Oklahoma Agr. Exp. Station. Name registered February 1, 1985.

Growth habit: Compact, upright, semi-dwarf shrub
Flower color: medium to dark pin with whitish margins
Foliage: dark green
Bark: brownish-gray
Autumn foliage color: red to orange-red
Blooming period: summer, autumn
